Check this Kid out!

Well he actually isn't a kid, he's a young man, and he is o0osing with
talent. Yep, watch out Josh Groban and meet your competition. His name
is Colin Whitfield and at only 15, I have NO DOUBT the world will
know him some day. He hired me to photograph him for promotional materials
and for his CD. For his CD he wanted a fun, hip vibe so we headed
to an urban back drop to get the feel. It was a blast working with him.

Senior Photo Fun

I absolutely LOVE working with seniors...
This senior was no exception.

I love her sense of style, warm personality, and big ole smile.
We shot these downtown in Rochester and I simply had a
blast!

Mother and Son...

I had such fun photographing these two. The mom has such
a warm personality, and the son...what a wonderful, thoughtful young man.
We had a beautiful autumn day for a great backdrop at the Royal Park hotel in Rochester.

A little one turns 1

I've know this little guy since he was still in the oven. He is
getting ready to turn 1. And soon he will be a big brother.
I can't say enough about these wonderful clients. Thank you so much

I'm a summer girl, but there is something about Fall that I just love.
The colors...
The kids back in school...
The cider and donuts...
Halloween...
Thanksgiving...
The hope that this WILL be the Lions year...

I just love Fall.

So in celebration of the new season, I'm offering Fall Mini-Sessions at the historical Van Hoosen Farm
in Rochester.

Mini sessions are the full Joey LuLu's experience, only in a shortened length.

Each session includes the following:

30 minutes of shooting time
Presentation of approximately 10-15 fully edited images
Online proofing gallery
An in-person ordering session

The cost-$85.

(an additional $15 for each person beyond 3 individuals)

I am completely Sleep Deprived...

And I have the US Olympic team to thank for it.
I have been glued to TV since the opening ceremony
in Beijing on 08.08.08.

This morning, after another night of staying up past midnight,
I feel like it's finally catching up to me. I'm wired as a morning person,
a robin...but this morning, I finally know what it feels like to "hate"mornings.

I haven't felt this tired since the girls were born...OKAY not quite but still.
I'm off to get my cup of Joe...

With this cooler weather we have been having, I can faintly feel the autumn winds starting to blow.

Summer goes by too quickly...
This is just a note that I am currently booking sessions for Holiday
photographs, and sessions are booking up quickly. If you are interested, hurry,
I have a couple spots left in October. I will book Holiday sessions through November 30th 2008.

Also effective September 1st 2008, Joey LuLu's will have a price increase on session fees.
Any session booked after August 31st 2008 will be under the new pricing structure.

The Dog Days of Summer....

I woke up this morning, feeling great!
Like every morning this was my greeting.
A thump-thump-thump down the hallway, as this big
girl comes to say hello. I swear her tail hitting the wall is like an alarm clock.

Her name is Lola, also known as Lola Bear, Polar Bear,
Woo Woo, Golden Girl, Lolita, Buffalo Butt...
She's a dog, so I swear she doesn't care that we comment on her
butt.



And anytime Lola greets me, she brings me a "present"
Sometimes she brings me a doll from the girls room, sometimes a shoe, most often a stuffed animal...
What I love about Lola is she is always happy. She really enjoys her life, sometimes I wonder what is going on
in that canine brain of hers.

Okay back to the original reason for this post..
It's August, my girls have one more month, and it's back to school.
I can honestly say this is the first summer in a few years that I have
thoroughly enjoyed.

My secrets???

I'm slowing down. I'm not running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
I'm savoring each moment.

It's funny, when you slow down, your life takes a different shape. Finding pleasure
is purer things, like my garden. It use to seem like another chore, This summer
I'm noticing the beauty, weeding is just part of the process.

Even my girls, I'm noticing them. They have changed a lot this summer. Of course
they have grown, but they are also more mature mentally. I'm giving them a more
freedom, and it's cool to see how they handle themselves. Yes, slowing down, and watching
your child grow before your very eyes is a cool thing.

Finally, Today my big, brother turns 48!!!

My American Girls...

It's been a while since I've done a photo session
of my girls.... (they are kinda like the cobbler's children
that have no shoes). I took them out the week of the 4th for
a shoot. Mostly playing around, but I thought I'd share a
few of the images. I still have to do their true 8 year session.

***sigh***... they are so grown up.

Happy 4th of July!

It's the 4th. I love this holiday for 2 reasons....
It's an opportunity to celebrate this wonderful country that we live in.
Times are tough right now, and so much is going on in the
world, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
There are so many freedoms we have here, and I never want
to take them for granted.

The other reason why I love this weekend is tomorrow I celebrate 12 years of
marriage. Yes, 12 years. It goes by so fast....
We've been through so much, 2 homes, 2 children, and 2 animals. Financial highs and lows.
Yes, marriage is truly a journey, it's not always going to be effortless.
At times it's tough,and anyone who has been married for longer
than a hot minute (sorry hollywood celebs) can tell you, it's hard work.
But when it's good...life is complete.
If you are on my blog, you know that I'm a huge Mary J.Blige fan.
Here voice is phenomenal, and the lyrics in her songs just speak to me.
So to me this song embodies my marriage experience

So here's my request and dedication, to my husband, my lover, my best friend....

Now he certainly tested my skill, as his attention was on the people
and other animals at the park. But this session would not have been
the same without him.

Oh and lastly I want to mention Jess is an Olympic hopeful for the winter Olympics.
Yep...this girl has mad skills on a snowboard too!
